About me

Vladimir Pedchenko

I manage the team behind TO3000, Projetex, and AnyCount. TO3000 is translation management software for translators. Projetex is translation management system for translation agencies. AnyCount is word count, character count, and line count tool, which supports 36 formats.

I started out in the translation industry as a freelance translator in 1996. By day, I translated reports for EU-funded projects into English. In the evening, I worked for a local Apple Computer office localizing Adobe products into Ukrainian.

I learned immediately that if you inject time and energy into quality, clients will keep coming back. By focusing passionately on translation, I came to another realization: after trying to make sense of the prospects and clients I had entered in my homemade database and forgetting to  invoice a client yet again, I decided to help translators in their battle with administration.

That is what led me to founding Advanced International Translations and publishing the first translation management software for translators, Translation Office 3000. Later AIT published Projetex, our translation management solution for translation agencies. We are continuing to research translation management at our Russian and Ukrainian translation labs.

During 1998-2011, which I consider to be my period of service to the translation industry, I have learned a great deal about translation management. Currently I am focusing on sharing the benefits that translation management can bring to translators and translation agencies, and researching the best practices in the area.
